Due to having only just over 2 weeks in the UK, our visit to London
was for a very short few hours.  We wanted to take a ride on the
London Eye but unfortunately, the queue was over 2 hours long !
So I had to be content to take a few photos of it.

It was a glorious day, with the sun shining and temperature around
14 degrees (still chilly by Aussie standards !)
We decided to walk wherever we wanted to go, rather than take
public transport.  Such a better way to see everything....

I was thrilled to see Big Ben and Buckingham Palace - albeit from a
bit of a distance.  I did manage to take some great photos of the
beautiful statues and memorials outside the palace.
St James Park was lovely with many people taking advantage
of the sunshine.  I also got to see my first squirrel !
I thought they were fascinating little creatures, although most
of the English consider them to be pests or vermin.

We stopped and had lunch in Harrods.  What a great place
to shop !  It was absolutely huge and the memorial to
Diana & Dodi was interesting to see.

Once again, the time flew by much too quickly and before we
knew it, we had to put our skates on and head back to the
underground train station to catch the first of several trains
which would take us back to Stroud.
