One of our favourite places to visit in the UK
is Bourton-On-The-Wate
r.  We have been there
many times, however I never tire of strolling around
this delightful village with all it's lovely shops, selling
everything from artworks to antiques.

It was a very busy, beautiful, sunny English Summer's
day when we visited, with loads of people enjoying the sun ~
kids and dogs cooling off in the stream which runs through the town.

I was spoilt rotten, with Chris buying me not one but two gorgeous
antique, rose gold bracelets.  Both very old with lots of history behind them.

Berkeley Castle is quite close to Dursley and although
we have seen the castle from the outside, it has always
been closed each time we have visited the UK.

We were lucky this time, with the castle being open
to the public.  It is a fascinating place, with a beautiful
butterfly enclosure housing many different coloured
butterflies.  I spent ages trying to get a shot of a lovely
blue butterfly and did manage to get a very rushed,
slightly blurred photo of this elusive butterfly
Photos taken inside the castle are frowned upon,
however I was a bit naughty and I couldn't resist taking
a few sneaky pictures of the interior of the castle...

We also visited the beautiful Gloucester & Exeter Cathedrals.
Both churches are magnificent with years and years of
history behind them.  We spent a few days in Exeter on
our way back to Dursley after visiting Cornwall,
staying overnight at the Lord Haldon Country House Hotel.
A lovely, old manor house converted into a hotel which
is surrounded by beautiful countryside.
